A standard robotic palletizing cell consists of several primary components:
Robot Arm: Typically a 4-axis or 6-axis articulated industrial robot, capable of heavy payloads and high-speed, continuous movement.
End-of-Arm Tooling (EOAT): Custom grippers designed specifically for the product being handled. Common types include vacuum grippers for boxes, claw/clamp grippers for bags or bundles, and magnetic grippers for metallic objects.
Infeed & Outfeed Conveyors: Systems that continuously deliver individual products into the robot's workspace and remove fully stacked pallets.
Pallet Dispensers/Slip Sheet Inserters: Automated mechanisms that feed empty pallets into position and place protective cardboard sheets between pallet layers.
